About the Artist
PETER MACARA has exhibited widely and is represented in numerous public sites and private collections (Resume here). A solo exhibition at the Hutson Gallery, Provincetown, featuring the artist's fragment paintings from June 26 - July 6, 2008 will launch the opening of a brand-new gallery and is in conjunction with the 2008 Provincetown Portuguese Festival. And in 2005 he completed his Lands End Mural, a 48-foot painted panorama of the Provincetown waterfront. The mural can be still be seen at Lands End Marine Supply, a local hardware store that commissioned the work where it is permanently installed. Peter Macara had been represented by Robyn Watson Gallery until the time of Robyn's death in 2004. Other venues have included a solo exhibition at the James Bakker Gallery, Boston, and Cortland Jessup Gallery, Provincetown, as well as participation in Bridges, an exhibition and journey of cultural exchange to Japan arranged by Cortland Jessup Projects' Lamia Ink!, New York.

In addition to his work as an artist, Peter works as Assistant Director/Registrar of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM).
